I am a feminist community development worker, peace activist and artist, born in Coledale with roots in Stanwell Park, living in Sydney and Canberra before returning to Coalcliff in 1997, and Bellambi in 1999.
I am passionate about enabling women’s human rights, especially the right to live free of violence. I have worked in women’s services since 1977. Through art, gardening and a good cup of tea on the veranda, I create change.
My work is strongly influenced by our local nature and the surrounding bushlands and seascapes.
My mediums include transparent watercolor, murals, (eg bus shelter murals take time to smell the roses) printmaking, painted and fabric banners, assemblages and sculptural pieces, some clay work, computer generated and enhanced images and stenciling.
My transparent watercolour paintings use resist, scratching, sanding and are framed free floating to allow appreciation of the deckled edges of the full sheets of 650gm Arches paper.
